Taiko,

Hah, finally got your D3, I recalled you were so excited like a small kid while waiting for your "2nd child" to arrive.

Any chance of you to try out D300?
Definitely it will not hold a handle to D3 in terms of performance and high ISO handling but I am curious to know if the D300 is a worthy upgrade for me as it is not cheap for just an amateur hobbyist like me, or I will just get a D200 instead as it is very cheap now, and capture in RAW and use Noise Ninja to remove the noise if I go high ISO.

Kindly advise!

Thanks!

I am using D200 as my 2nd body. It serves me well for the last 1.5 year. From what I see, D300 is slightly better than D200 only. ISO performance is 1 or maybe 1.5 stop better, Live View which I don’t use, self cleaning sensor which I prefer to do it manually, 3 inch LCD not really important, 51 focus point which is not necessary for me. But if I do not have D200, I will go straight for D300. But that is just me, good luck on your purchase.
